OBITUARY
Thelma Irene Housley was born in Pearcy, Arkansas in 1928. She met Melvin, the love of her life in 1947 in Los Banos, California, while working at Tiny’s Restaurant. Their courtship lasted a short 2 months before they were married, I guess when you know, you know. Three years later she became the mother to her first child, Karen; 18 months later she had her son Larry. She was happily married to Melvin for 72 years. She was a loving, hard working, generous wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother (G.G.). Thelma's passion for cooking was a way to gather her loved ones all in one place throughout the year but especially during the holidays. She was known for her famous carrot cake and yeast rolls and who could forget the apple pies! She loved having her grandchildren and great-grandchildren around. She could not stop at only feeding her family, she also spent time filling her hummingbird feeders. Thelma led a simple life with the daily pleasures that many of us take for granted. But you better not make her mad because there are stories we could tell.

CHERISH MY MEMORY
You can shed tears
because I am gone,
Or you can smile
because I have lived.
You can close your eyes
and pray that I will come back,
Or you can open your eyes
and see all that I have left.
Your heart can be empty
because you can’t see me,
Or you can be full
of the love we shared.
You can turn your back
on tomorrow and live yesterday,
Or you can be happy
for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember me
and only that I am gone,
Or you can cherish my memory
and let it live on.
“May God touch you
with His healing hand
and give you the peace and comfort
you need to get through.”
Anon.
