AMAZING GRACE
by John Newton
Amazing grace how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind but now I see.
’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved,
How precious did that grace appear,
The hour I first believed.
The Lord has promised good to me,
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures.
Thru many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace that brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.
When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun;
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we first begun.
OBITUARY
Ronnie M. Jensen, age 66, of Fresno, went home to be with the Lord on December 31, 2017. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Jensen, his mother, Leora Jensen, his brother, Freddy Jensen and his son, Ronnie Jensen Jr. Ronnie is survived by his wife of 37 years, Debbie Jensen. He is also survived by four children, Tonya Brownell (Mark) of Fresno, Mandy Shaffer of Fresno, Robert Castillo of Fresno and Aaron Jensen (Sassy) of Las Vegas; 16 grandchildren (Brandon, Ashlee, Ashton, Brock, Kayley, Ryan, Cason, Ari, Nathanael, Gabe, Desiree, Aiden, Jacob, Elliot, Emmet and Easton) and seven great-grandchildren (Braedon, Ariyanah, Caius, Avyan, Bentley, Lincoln and Rowan). Ronnie also leaves behind three brothers, Terry Jensen, Denny Jensen and Tom Nary as well as his step-mother, Joan Jensen and three step-sisters, Darlene Crews, Bernice Nary and Rocksann Johnson.
Ronnie was born in Price, Utah but spent his younger years in Hesperia. He joined the US Marine Corps in 1968, serving in Vietnam as a Track Combat Vehicle Mechanic, earning the Combat Action Ribbon, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Rifle Marksman Badge. Ronnie went on to work for Lee Greene Plastering for many years until he received his Plastering Contractor’s License working as Journeyman Plastering as well as managing five computer training schools. In 1992 Ronnie became involved with Follow-Up Ministries, ministering to inmates, ex-inmates and their families. He and Debbie founded ACCESS Ministries, Inc. in 1996 on the California Central Coast where he ministered for the next 15 years to those who were frustrated and hurting, trying to transition from prison to some type of normalcy; the road he knew all too well. He made so many close friends who he referred to as his brothers and sisters. He was also employed with BRCC Construction as a Project Manager for Bruce and Anne (who he loved dearly) until he became too ill to carry on his physical responsibilities. Ronnie will be missed by his family as well as so many others. You are loved Ronnie Jensen. SYOTOS (see you on the other side). Memorial service to be held Friday, February 23rd, 1:00 p.m. at New Life Community Church of the Nazarene, 990 James Way, Pismo Beach, CA 93449.
