OBITUARY
Bob was born August 2, 1924, in South Bend, Indiana, raised in Chicago, Illinois, and passed away in Clovis, California on July 9, 2020. He graduated from Amundsen High School, the University of Illinois, and served as a signalman in the U.S. Navy during World War 2. Bob was a salesman in Chicago for General Fireproofing and a golf pro at Rob Roy Golf Course in Mt. Prospect, Illinois. Upon relocating to Fresno, California in 1963, he operated a miniature golf course, Golf World, and developed other buildings at Blackstone and Shaw. He married his high school sweetheart, Janice Mary Yates, on March 30, 1946, and later became the proud father of 2 daughters, Barbara Leigh Givens and Bonnie Jean Brown. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Maree Nickel, Aimee Ward, Laura Keith, Rob Givens, Heidi Lowery, Daniel Brown and Janice Berndt, and numerous great grandchildren. A private graveside service will be held at the Clovis Cemetery on July 16th for family only due to the COVID restrictions.
