OBITUARY

Karen McCool Dunn Woodard was born in Portland, Oregon on October 13, 1941, and passed on July 23, 2022, in Fresno California. Karen spent most of her life in Fresno, graduating from Fresno High and Fresno State. Karen is preceded in death by her mother Naomi McCool Dunn, her father Gordon Glover Dunn, brother Gordon Derek Dunn and her son Joe Gordon Woodard. She leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law Kelly and Don Lipari. Karen passed from an 8 month battle with colon cancer. She was blessed with the loving care of her daughter and niece Vera Mills. She and her family had constant support from family and friends to include Bruce & Betty Barnett, Dana Clinton, Juli McNeal, Carrie Palmiter, Renee Logoluso and Reneeta McGee. Gratitude is also extended to Dr. Sashi Kiran Bains, Primary Care at Kaiser for years of compassionate care, and Dr. Kuanchang Lu, Kaiser Palliative Care, who provided Karen and her family with the support necessary to navigate her end-of-life journey. Karen retired from a lengthy career with Fresno County as a Supervisor with Social Services. Karen had a heart for serving people, was a loving mother and enjoyed many long and lifetime friendships. She will missed by all who knew her.
