I was just reading my patriarchal blessing again, that Brother Sharp gave to me way back in 1979. Wow, I had never met him, yet he gave me a powerful blessing that has served as a shining guidepost to me… I sensed him to be a humble man, a man of God, a man of great faith. Even at age 16 I felt his reliance on the Lord, and knew he had a great weight upon himself to say the right words. Anyway, to the family of Patriarch Sharp, I want to say that I’m sure your memories are fond of him, and although you certainly must miss him dearly I know that you must also feel the deep peace of the knowledge of seeing him again, perfected and glorious, a mighty servant of the Lord.

I met Patriarch Sharp as a fifteen year old preparing to receive my patriarchal blessing in Fresno CA. I was actually reading it just today, and wondered whatever happened to the great man who gave me such a beautiful blessing. When the 1990 school year ended, we moved we moved to another part of CA, but I’m so happy I was in Fresno at the time to receive this important blessing as a freshman in high school from him. I am sad to hear of his passing, but I know that he touched many lives, including mine, with his inspired words - he is in a much better place.

Our family will always be grateful for Patriarch Sharp in our lives!! 24 hours before our mother passed away he came to her bedside and gave her a blessing!! It was so beautiful and so very comforting!! We loved him so much!! We are grateful how he has touched our lives throughout our years!!!!
