IF YOU COULD SEE ME
My prayers have all been answered –
I finally have arrived;
The healing that was long delayed –
Has now been realized.
No one is in a hurry –
No schedule must I keep –
I am being taught by Jesus
As I worship at His feet.
My short and temporary trials –
Have worked out for my good;
As He explained them unto me,
I have finally understood.
Though we have had our sorrows,
There is nothing so secure
As all our Savior has in store
For those who do endure.
If you could see me now …
I am whole and standing tall;
And thus the earthly pains I bore
Seem all so very small.
If you could see me now …
You would know I’ve seen His face;
And thus you would not ever want
For me to leave this place.
Robert Earl Yewdall, Jr
1929 - 2016
Tuesday, Sept. 13th, 2016, Robert Earl Yewdall, Jr passed into the arms of the
Lord. Survived by his wife Mary, their son David, and their daughter-in-law Lisa
Audrey Yewdall. Bob was born in Topeka Kansas in 1929, to Mabel & Robert
Earl Yewdall, Sr. Bob attended Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, in
Missouri — where he met Mary Frances Lander. They fell in love, and were
married November 24th 1949. The following year Mary gave birth to a son,
naming him David Lewis Yewdall.
Both Bob and Mary had deep family roots, growing up in the mid-west.
However, teacher salaries in Missouri in those years were extremely low, so Bob
researched upward paying positions elsewhere in the country. So Bob and his
wife and their three year old son moved to Coalinga, Ca in 1953.
Bob immediately became an elementary teacher — and continued
teaching in the Coalinga Unified School District for the next forty-one years.
Bob and Mary resided at 202 Lincoln street for 57 years. Both Bob and
Mary were active in the community. Praising the Lord in their own way by raising
a joyful noise — singing for the church, as well as helping with church activities
and business affairs.
Bob was an avid basketball fan, not just watching, but taking his son to the
courts and shooting baskets, inviting other kids to join in. He had a very unusual
‘unblockable’ basketball hook shot, that he enjoyed teaching the kids.
Mary loved animals, and fed a number of wild cats for years. She became
an unofficial ‘den mother’ for college girls who needed support and guidance.
Bob and his wife, Mary and their son ( David ) were also vocally active in
Coalinga, participating in Community Chorus, light-opera in the spring term and
later in the annual Renaissance Madrigals during the Christmas season.
All services will be private. Please, in lieu of flowers, the family asks
donations to their church choir fund, or to your favorite charity.
