FOOTPRINTS
One night a man had a dream.
He dreamed he was walking
Along the beach with the Lord.
Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
From each scene,
He noticed two sets of footprints in the sand;
One belonged to him,
And the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of his life
Flashed before him,
He looked back at the footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times
Along the path of his life
There was only one set of footprints.
He also noticed that it happened at the
Very lowest and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered him
And he questioned the Lord about it.
“Lord, you said
That once I decided to follow you,
You’d walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during
The most troublesome times in my life,
There is only one set of footprints.
I don’t understand why
When I needed you most
You would leave me.”
The Lord replied,
“My precious, precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
When you see only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you.”
OBITUARY
Leroy Brown was born on March 9, 1948 to the union of Dorothy and James Brown, Jr. in Madera, California. Leroy moved to Fresno, California where he had the privilege of being raised by his Aunt Mary (also known as "Mama") and Uncle James Brown, Sr. on Poppy Street in West Fresno. Leroy attended Edison High School where he met Jurline Levingstone; through this union, their daughter Regina was born. Leroy Brown received his Spiritual teachings from Miracle Revival Center officiated by the late Pastor A. L. Madden, Sr. on California and Thorne Ave. in Fresno. Leroy worked for the Internal Revenue Service as a custodian but found that it was insufficient for his entrepreneurial mindset. He opened his own successful recycling business where he enjoyed working in downtown Fresno and China Town. He was well known and treated those who knew him like family. Leroy Brown was a man to be respected and when he felt like you were not respecting who he was, he would ask, "Do you know my name? I am Leroy Brown, and this is how it is going to go!" LEROY BROWN LEAVES TO CHERISH HIS MEMORY: His Parents: Dorothy and James Brown, Jr.; Eight Sisters: Alestine, Ernestine, Ella Mae, Stephanie, Lynette, Evone Loraine, Diane, and Bonnie Sue; Three Brothers: Stephen, James III, and Foley; Daughter and Son-In-Law: Regina and Steven Lineberry; Four Grandchildren: Joshua, Christopher, Delicia and Jabarie; Eight Great Grandchildren: Jeniyah, Joshua Jr., Saniyah, Jabarie Jr., Armani, Jaydah, Arie, and Jordan; also a numerous host of special cousins, other family and friends.
